I have this feeling that our summer has come and went. Our weather is staying in the lower 60's of late. Not that I am totally complaining. I had hubby put in the air conditioner and I think we only used it a week total. Went swimming with the gr-kids a few times this summer and now the lake is too cool to go back. But I don't complain too much. The good Lord gave us a few good days to enjoy.
I have been busy branching out and selling purses along with my jewelry and army tags. That is something women just can't seem to get enough of.
I know, I am one of them. I go through many purses a year. So I find them for a reasonable price and sell them for just a little bit more.
It gives us money to buy more Bibles, socks, and essentials for people we see that need them. It gives us a great joy to see the smile on their faces when we give them things we know they need. We even get small stuffed animals to give to children that we see that may need a smile put on their faces. We've found that by giving a child a toy at a restaurant, they will become much quieter while waiting for their food. Making the ambiance more enjoyable for not only their parents but for all.
I hope everyone has had a great summer and is not waiting to do the hurry and rush shopping just before school starts. I know my daughter is busy getting school supplies and clothing for her 3 already. Catching all the sales so as to get the shopping done now and she will have a couple weeks to relax before the kids do go back to school.
Let the Lord guide you in all you do. Sometimes others don't think the choices you make are the right choices, but they don't live your life- you DO. Only you and the Lord can make those decisions. Sometimes they are really hard and they pay off. The good things in life ARE worth fighting for. With the Lord by your side it will all work out.
Sometimes it doesn't work out the way YOU want it to, but it's the way the Lord wanted it to work out. So put all your troubles in the Lord's hands.
Pray and he will answer in his time and his time only.
NOT ours.
All my love,
Christina

Should I celebrate **Christmas**
My family and I don't. We have no tree, no lights, not even a gift one is wrapped and given in our house.
We celebrate the Lord every day and feel we should not set aside JUST one day a year for him. As God did not put it in the Bible for us to do so. If he had wanted it to be done he would have made sure to have included it in his word.
But I think you will find this following link informative reading.

God only gives you what you can handle but I DON'T know if I can handle this
I got one of the hardest phone calls anyone could ever get tonight. I got a call from one of my brothers informing me that another one of our brothers had passed away yesterday, Oct 12th. He was living in Florida. Of course way away from the rest of us. Plus we hadn't seen him since our mother passed in 1998. He in actuality isn't liked to well by my other 2 brothers. See Lonnie was free spirited. Never really lived anywhere. Never had any bills. Worked where he wanted, when he wanted. Made friends all over the place. Would help anyone that needed it. Stayed on the beaches in Florida so he got to see the sun rise and set. Did stay with a friend here and there once in awhile.
Sure he had his demons. He did drugs and drank. But he never stole to have them. He loved his life-it made him happy. And isn't that what mattered? Was that he was happy!
Who in all reality wouldn't like to live without bills and be able to come and go as you please? To sleep on the beach and take a dip whenever you wanted. Be friends with all the store managers and get the end of the night fast food left overs. FREE food- who wouldn't love that. Or get the day old donuts they are gonna throw out and share them with your friends. What's wrong with a day old donut? I've ate more than a few in my day. He's even gotten a few T-bone steaks that were at the end of their date that they were gonna throw out, that are really still ok, and had great cook-outs with his friends.
I don't know about you but I think he had a very good life.
Plus from what I was told by one of his friends tonight- he had stopped his drugs over a year ago, and even slowed up on his drinking. So he was conquering his demons.
Well I now have the task of trying to make his funeral arrangements. Not really something I am wanting to do. But I know with the Lord's help I will get it done.
With him not having a will or money for that fact the final bill will fall to us 3 remaining siblings. So there are many things I have to look into.

Something I haven't done before

I know up til now I haven't shown a pic of myself but I just came across this pic of my hubby and myself and just wanted to share it. Yes now you know I am just 4ft. 6in. tall. Yes that means I am a dwarf. Yes I was teased as a child. Even though I had 4 brothers, I wasn't spoiled being the only girl in the family. I had to learn how to work on cars and motorcycles if I wanted my fathers attention. Since I was the only girl he didn't know how to show any attention to me. So I had to vie for his attention in becoming a tomboy. Even though we didn't spend alot of time together we were alot alike. Strong headed, easy going and easy to forgive. I spent lots of time with my mother and learned how to pinch a penny. With a family of 7 and her making ends meet the way she did was a miracle. My father was a bad drinker so that came first before the bills and food. But mother always made sure there was food on the table.
But as I look back on those days I see that it was the Lord that made it all work, not my dad or my mom. See I asked him into my heart when I was all of 10yrs. old. Started praying my heart out that my dad would stop his drinking. Well he finally did, many years later when he blew his head off. Something I had trouble trying to tell my 2 children, then 15 and 16. That was when I realized that our prayers DO get answered but in Gods time NOT our time. I wasn't mad at God at the way my dad died. Actually I was happy that he was finally gone. Happy because his drinking wasn't hurting the ones that loved him any more.
My life has been hard but I keep strong because I have our Lord holding my hand every step of the way.
This is but only a glimpse into the torment of my life of the past.
But as of the last 10yrs. it has gotten much brighter.
Now you know a little more about me. How about you sharing a bit about yourself and sending me the link?
God Bless,
Christina
