Protein Shake Face

We have recently started adding protein shakes to our breakfast routine. It only takes a few minutes to make and one makes this while the other makes the eggs for the wheat muffins with spinach and a bit of shredded cheese. That will make up our breakfast. It is filling and takes us til snack time a couple hours later. We have done very well at eating better and sticking to it. It was hard at first because we were always hungry but that went away. We feel more energetic and lively.
But to bring you back to the shake. Everyday when we have our shakes we have 3 little dogs who think they should have some too so we give them a few licks out of our glass. But we have one baby that always ends up with a chin left over. SO today I decided to share it with you.
Don't mind my jewelry making supplies in the background. He didn't want to hold still so he needed a little help. He thought he was in trouble so his ears weren't perked like always. But he is cute just the same. He's our youngest of the bunch-Aquila. We got his name from the bible.

Just when did we become so lazy?

I have to ask this because I had noticed after we had gone out to eat at one of our favorite places a number of times, they immediately give you your check before you even finished your plate. The place is a Chinese Buffet. I later learned that in their culture it is normal to immediately finish eating then *leave* and NOT relax after eating. Something we Americans do with not thinking one bit about it.
So I was wondering how far back in our society it came about that we started lounging about after eating? Rather than getting up and getting to whatever we needed to get doing to. Which may explain to why we actually have gotten to our being over weight. Instead of all these excuses of too much sugar, carbs., and fats will contribute to our being over weight.
All I did when I was a child was have fun playing outside. There wasn't much Tv. watching except a few hours every saturday morning of those special cartoons I just didn't like to miss. I spent most of my time riding my bike or playing hide and seek. Came in for supper and then right back out till time for a bath and bed.
The kids now don't move from in front of the Tv. or the computer. They have their video games to keep them company and don't even know what friends are now days. Or they spend time texting on their phones that their parents buy them by the time they are 8yrs old.

While wanting to eat better

What a great dinner. Had this the other night.
Trying to eat better and after I had seen a youtube video
from *Cooking With Chris*, Chris Stevens I just had to try the potato substitution. I have to say it's not so bad & it gives you more of the vitamins & protein you need. It will become a regular staple in our meals from now on.
Are there any foods you are incorporating in your meals that you would like to share? Not only is it better to eat healthier but it helps to make you feel better and helps to get you out there and enjoy life with your grand kids instead of telling them NO you will just watch.

The Lord said "Thou shall Not Kill".

But I ask you if you were put into a situation of protecting your family or standing idly by and let an intruder in your home harm your family? What would you do? Do you actually think that intruder will listen to reason? Could you just talk to him/them like you do your children and he/they will listen to you and leave? What do you think they came there for in the first place, the lecture they didn't get at home? No they want to steal from you and if you are in their way they WILL harm you and everyone in their way. Plus if they are NOT so nice they may even do NOT so nice things to the women. Will the man of the house stand idly by and watch this? I hope not.

Even being a Christian doesn't mean we must stand by and let someone do harm to use. Yes they have that choice to do the wrong thing but I believe we also have that choice to protect ourselves.
Forgive me but didn't they KILL people that did wrong in the Bible?
So wouldn't we be doing RIGHT if we killed these intruders since they are doing WRONG?
I know from a mother's point of view, and from bad choices. I had to put my children's welfare first a few times and I did FIGHT to do just that. I had just this scenario happen to me and had I had a gun in my home that person would've been dead. But I did lay him out on my kitchen floor until the police came.

We have thought hard on having a gun in the house. We had one a number of years ago but sold it because  we no longer go hunting. So hitting the target if someone decided to break into our home would be no problem for either of us.
Wondering how it would effect us if we were to kill someone- that is another story. No one would know the effects of that until they actually encountered it. But I can tell you if someone were to enter my home without being invited - I would fight to my last breath to defend the loved ones in my home.

I recently came across this website that sold these signs to put in your yards. I live in an area that I wouldn't need to place these in my yard. But I have to say if I lived in the city or country I would definitely have one of these.
I have to say it is sad that it is getting to a point where we have to "scare" intruders like this. But in most homes this would be true.
I have to say that with the video of Brinks- they don't give you a real since of security. Because all it would take is for the intruder to have a gun and he answer the phone and tell the person on the other end that the window broke because kids were playing outside with a ball and it broke the window. So everything was fine. So then no police would be called and then you would be at his mercy.

So how much do those signs of theirs really deter intruders? A good thief knows what he wants and what he's willing to give up to get it. Or if they are on drugs they don't care one bit and they go after what they want at any cost.
Do you think you can talk that kind of intruder down?????

Do you remember these?

These are just a handful of the shows I grew up with. How about you do you have any you can add to the list?

What makes me less than you?

I've had this conversation with many folks. It usually starts out when we are talking about the economy and we get around to our homes and vehicles.
We get to talking about how bad it has gotten and how bad we've had to tighten our belts and then the other party says something stupid like "well at least you live in a trailer, you don't know what it's like to have bills". Well that may be true, I do live in a mobile home. But what they don't take into consideration is MY home is already paid for. So NO I don't have that big bill YOU have. I paid for my home with CASH. I don't owe a bank for my home. I will never have to worry about it being taken away from me if I don't make that payment each month.
But does that make my home any more less than yours? NO I don't see why it should. It keeps me warm in the winter and cool in the summer and dry when it rains, all the same things your home does. Sure mine might not be as filled with fancy what nots as yours, but I don't need those for mine to be a home. I have nice curtains that I did myself to my liking. I painted the walls the colors I wanted. I have things on the walls that are my taste. My home is filled with love.

When my kids and grandkids come over they know they don't need to take their shoes off at the door because dirt is meant to be cleaned up. I don't run a museum, come in - sit down and stay awhile. What's mine is yours, make yourself at home. If you're thirsty, you know where the fridge is, get it yourself.
I don't have one of those homes where you come in and sit in the same spot til you leave because you are afraid you might mess something up. That's my sister-in-law. NOT me.

Then on to my car. It might not be the newest one on the market but yes I paid cash for it. It isn't full of rust and dents. I always trust in the Lord to provide me with what I can afford. He has never let me down yet.
But I hear, "but I wouldn't be caught in something less than 2 yrs old". Well then you have fun making those payments. Right along with that house payment. Then wonder why you don't have money to do things. Why is it that people are so worried about keeping up with the JONES'S or SMITH'S? When the Lord will provide you with all the things you need if only you let him.
As long as that car runs and gets you from A to B and back to A, why do you care what it looks like?

Another thing that gets my goat is when they get down on me about my grocery shopping. Yes I buy store brand food most of the time. I find there to be no difference in taste or texture once it is cooked up than the name brand food. Once you add your seasonings it all tastes the same anyway. I save so much money buying store brand. And things in bulk. Now don't get me wrong I will buy name brand when they are on sale and I have a coupon for them, so I save extra on them. That is when they usually end up costing less than store brand so that's when I will get them. But only then. With the Lord's help he has showed me many ways to save on things. From my home, vehicle to groceries to even my clothing.
Yes, I shop at the RAG stores, as the wealthy call them. Those would be Goodwill Store, Salvation Army Store and Dollar Stores. And YES I do like me my garage sales. I see nothing wrong with used clothing. I take it home and give it a good washing right off anyways. So it's like getting it brand new to me. Besides, this way it has already been washed a number of times and you know if it was going to shrink it has done it by now. I can't see spending $30 for a T-shirt or $90 for a pair of Jeans, when I can get the same thing for $1-$3 at the goodie store.(as I call it) Plus if you take your time you can get brand new clothes with the tags still on them. I have gotten many clothes this way. Even fancy named clothes. But you won't get many high fluting people to go shopping at these places. Those are beneath them. They wouldn't be caught dead in there.
Well then you keep paying your high prices and when you donate them for your tax write off's, I'll benefit from your money grubbedness.

You know I guess I should thank the stingy people out there. Because if it weren't for them spending their all might dollar to first buy that NEW Home and discard it like trash I wouldn't have been able to buy it for cash at such a low price. Same goes for the vehicle. They bought it new then discarded it like yesterdays trash, just so I could cherish it and keep it running because it means something to me. Then they change their clothes as often as they change the tv channels. Just so I can have such nice clothes at dirt cheap prices.
WOW without the so called RICH people where would the poor people be?
OH -- wait, they would be no where because it is us poor people who work our butts off doing all the work in their shops to make them rich, where they pay us minimum wage in the first place.
So I guess I take back my thank you after all..........................

Problems with blogger

Well I have done all I can for this morning. I have spent over 2hrs. trying to figure out why I can't get a background to stay on my blog. Even the default background won't stay on it. I can get it to stay put when I place it on it but when I go to view it, it's gone. So I am stuck for the meantime with the bold look of white on my blog. Sorry to everyone who come to visit. I know white is not a flattering look but it will have to do for now.

May we all be thankful

A good friend of mine wrote this and I thought is was appropriate and fitting and wanted to pass it on.

This has been a rough year for a lot of people, there has been heartaches.. dissapointments.. Loss of people we love, trouble with finances, mistakes made, lessons learned.. Loss of friends. But we have to think of the good too.. We are still alive, we have food, shelter, new friends. We still have a God that loves us.. He does things right on time.. He never leaves nor forsakes us.. Let's be thankful he has allowed us to see another day, another year.. Let's thank God for all the good, all the blessings he has given.. Let's bring in this New Year just believing God's promises.. Giving him the glory & praise for it all!!
May God Bless each & every one!!

Thank you Lorraine.
May the LORD always show his kindness upon you. May he continue to teach you the lessons you need in your life. Keeping in mind that his lessons are not always easy.  Some do bring heartache and pain. But lessons non the less.

Setting here wondering

As I was setting here wondering. I thought friends were just that friends. But this past week I found out differently. When I become someones friend, I am just that a friend through thick or thin. I will not tell someone else any secrets they may tell me, I listen and console when I think they need my friendship. I am there if they need me and I accept them as they are, faults and all. We find things we have in common and we become friends. Some right off the bat. Others it grows. But to turn that friendship off just like that -- I don't know how someone can do that.
I do not put them down for what they think or do. I know not everyone has everything in common. But don't you still like your friends even if they have different thoughts and ideas about things than you do?
I have never disliked a friend because I knew they were a Jew or Catholic and had different ideas than I did about the Bible. I know we each have to learn at our own pace and time. The Lord shows us things when we want them to be known.
I know they go by their Bible and I go by my KJV. But that is the thing I GO BY MINE. Not just a word here and there but literally by the *Bible*. The words the LORD put down in there.
The Lord says to not *add* to his word or *take away from* it. So that is why I stick with the KJV, it is the only Bible that has NOT been re-written in over 200 years. Even the NKJV has been re-written and words have been added and taken out of the Bible.

Revelation 22:19

King James Version (KJV)

And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

To me this is saying if I read a Bible that has been written with the words added or taken away from and I false witness to someone from those words--I am no better than the person/s that wrote the book I was quoting from.
Some say the the KJV is hard to understand. Well it maybe but I always ask for the Lord's guidance when I start reading and he teaches me as I read.
When/If you get to heaven how do you expect to be able to talk to the Lord if you can't speak and understand his language?
You think you're actually going to be able to *ax* him a question?
Do you think he speaks slang? I doubt it.
No one ever said living the christian life was going to be easy. Yes if you want to shine and wear your Christianity on the outside, you need to be strong. That means you'll be shunned by many. You need to be consistent. Don't waiver from your actions.
Don't laugh at those stupid jokes that you know aren't really funny. Just so you can fit in with others.
Even Pastors can be leading you astray.

Jeremiah 5:20-35

King James Version (KJV)
20  Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,
21Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:
22 Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?
23 But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.
24 Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.
26 For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men.
27 As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich.
28 They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge.
29 Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
 30 A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;
31 The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?

This is saying just that. That even back then people found it easier to listen to false prophets and priests saying what they thought was God's word rather than THE TRUE WORD. It is so simple to just read the Bible and go by what it says. If it says to NOT do something, then DON'T do it.
There is no such thing as a little white lie. A lie is just that a LIE. No matter how you tell it.

No where in the Bible does the Lord say to actually celebrate his son's birth date. He tells us that his son was born because he loved us so much.

John 3:16

King James Version (KJV)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

He made it easier for us to go directly through Jesus to be saved. Now that is love if ever I knew it. I don't know any dad here on earth that would have a baby boy just to have it be crucified 33 yrs. later.
He gave us 10 commandments to follow:

Exodus 20

King James Version (KJV)

Exodus 20:1-17

And God spake all these words, saying,
I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
 13 Thou shalt not kill.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
 15 Thou shalt not steal.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

So simple are these commandments but so hard are they to follow for so many of us. Going backwards up-
how many have said "I wish I could afford a car like they have-, or I want what they have?" That is coveting.
What about I think it was him/her I seen. That is false because you don't know for sure. Or they did something like that in the past why didn't they do it this time also. False witnessing when you didn't actually see someone do something.
Everyone has stole in their life. It's true. Have you ever taken a piece of candy from your sibling without asking? That's stealing. Every "borrowered" a piece of clothing from a sibling and told them later? Stealing- you didn't ask first. Same goes with a tool from a dad or friend. Stole first and told them later. Borrowing is asking first.
Adultery- another one everyone has done. Have you ever looked at someone and "google eyed" them. Looked at them with lust in your eyes or undressed them with your eyes, then you have already committed adultery.
Shall not "kill". Another one we have probably all done. If just in our minds. The Lord knows what we think. We have all gotten so angry that we have probably wished someone had never been born. In doing that we have killed them before they were born. Or someone was born but given away because they weren't wanted or didn't fit into that person's life at that time. In actuality what you did was *KILL* that child from your life. You removed it from where the Lord put it.
Honour thy father and mother- do any of us really honour our parents? When we are old enough to rebel we did. We started doing things our way and acted up every chance we got. We are the ones who put those grey hairs on our parents heads from them worrying about us. Staying up at night wondering if we were safe. But we never realized that until we were parents. That chain needs to be broken- but when? When will the honouring of the father and mother ever start?
Keeping the sabbath holy has been hard to do for many of us. It's not that we need to find time to gather all the family to go to church. As we ARE the church. The Bible tells us that. But for many years no one takes the time to just gather together on one day and REST. NOT work but REST. Make it about the LORD. Remember why we are even here.
Why is it so easy to Blame the Lord for everything that goes wrong in your life. You step in a mud puddle and you curse the Lord. You misplace your keys and curse the Lord. Taking the Lord's name in vain is wrong. Why don't you just use your own name instead? What did the Lord ever do to you? He didn't make you step in that mud puddle, or put your keys where you wouldn't remember them.
There is but ONE God and he is a very Jealous God. There is no sun god, or moon god, or tree god. Just one very loving, kind God. The God who made us and without him we wouldn't be here. Plain and simple.

I have gotten lots of back lash for following the Lords word this time of year. I even lost a friend over it. Which was sad but, I find not all Christians are true Christians. They like to talk the talk but not walk the walk. I myself walk the walk and follow the Lords word. I do fall but I admit my failures. This time of year we do NOT indulge in the christmas spirit as God never actually told us when Jesus was born. So we do NOT celebrate Jesus's birth in December. As we believe he was born at a different time. if you read the Bible and do the math you will see he was.
But we also follow the Bible where it tells us NOT to indulge in what the heathen do. I know I was really disliked for that word. But I am not judging if I am quoting our Lord.
See Below:

Jeremiah 10: 1-5

King James Version (KJV)

1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

She thinks she is freezing

We got this electric heater a couple weeks ago and it does very well at keeping the house warm and the furnace from running during the day. It only kicks on a few times when the temp. drops from where we have it set. We researched and this is supposed (yes supposed) to only cost $1.30 a day to run it. We only run it during the day while we are awake and home. So we will see when our electric bill comes next month. I will let you know. I know the gas bill will be down since the furnace isn't kicking on as much.
So as you will see our little Punkin likes to stay warm and she use to set in front of the heater ducts when the furnace came on. But since she noticed this stays on all the time she loves to lay in front of this as you can see. She will change positions every few minutes to warm another section on her body. She thinks anything under 75 degrees in freezing. Even in the summer time. She is a blast to watch. We have to keep fuzzy blankets in their cage so she can get into them in the summer when she thinks it is too cold out.

Isaiah 55:6-8

Isaiah 55:6-8

King James Version (KJV)

6Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

His new shoes

He had been after me to get these shoes, so today we went and got him a pair today. They were on sale and we saved $40. Not bad. Regularly $110 and we paid $70. We spent over 3 hours last night searching all sites we could find looking for them and reading reviews about them. We finally found a place that were 26 miles from us. So off we went today to check them out.
But not before we went to our Dollar Tree store to get a couple pair of Toe Socks so we were set to try on the shoes.
Of course they did have the socks there at the store we were heading to but I was NOT going to pay $9 a pair for socks.

These are called Vibram Five Fingers Shoes.

These are of the bottom to show you how the soles look like. Very flexible-not solid like our regular shoes we wear. So that every step you take allows your foot to move. Even your toes individually.
It even has a built in instep.
To show how flexible they are I had Mr. L. flex his feet to show how easily they move backward and
forward. (Well Punkin just had to get her picture taken to.)
I wasn't able to get a pair of their shoes because I had trouble with the shoes being too narrow in the women's sizes. So when I put on the shoes it would pull on the socks and with the toe socks it pulled them back into my toes and it hurt. So it took away from the ability of knowing if the shoe fit well since I was concentrating on the pain between my toes.
So I was fine with my old $10 pair of shoes from Walmart I had gotten this past summer.
They seem to be the same style they offer for women without the toe separation and as you can see by the soles of these shoes, I have worn them many times this past summer.

I love my MagicJack Plus

I had been using the MagicJack for my house phone. And when I went to renew my service for another year I noticed they had come up with a better MagicJack. One that didn't need to be hooked into your computer. All you needed to do was plug it into your modem and then into the MagicJack and then plug the phone into into the MagicJack and that into an outlet. How simple was that???
Well after you hooked it into your computer for a quick second to download it real quick and register it so you can get your number and set up your account and everything. It actually takes just minutes.
After I got everything registered they asked if I wanted to pay for 5yrs service for a BIG discount of $99.95 and I figured why not. That was a big savings over the $69.95 a year it would've cost me next year for my renewal. Sure it was a big amount to put out all at once but not when you really think of it over a 6yr period. That comes out to $2.36 a month. I think I can afford that.
Well I sent off for a new one. It cost $69.95 for the first years service of the MagicJack Plus. Not bad since I can make all the local and long distance calls I want and never pay again for another year. When you break that down I am only paying $5.83 a month for phone service. Plus when you have a phone with caller ID you see who is calling. And it has voice mail. Not to mention you can call 911 from your phone also.

We have 3 wireless phone sets and all 3 work with MagicJack. I just have the main one hooked into MagicJack.

I just had to buy this - can you guess why?

That's right- this is a Simply Vera, Vera Wang Shirt. I scored this for all of $1.25. Brand new with tags on. Tags said $34.00. I got it at the salvation army store 2 weeks ago.
I have to say I just HATE this shirt. The only reason I got it was because I wanted to say I had a Vera Wang item. But I have to say I really don't feel any different since I have it. I have worn it a couple times under my green hoodie. Which it goes good with. But for some reason I thought I would feel different having a Vera Wang piece, but I don't. Maybe it was the way I was brought up.
One piece of clothing was just like another. Just that- a piece of clothing. Names meant nothing to me growing up. We weren't brought up in an area where all that hoopla of who was wearing what name brand meant anything.
Why is it today that, that is all that matters is what brand name you are wearing?
Our world is so sad.....

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord and continue to shop the discount stores for all those hand me downs from everyone else. All they ever need is a good washing and maybe a stitch or two.

Things that make you smile

Is my smeller working yet??
Come on, you've had it long enough. It's my turn now to chew on it for 10 minutes.
Now listen up. You are a scary dog. You're just not scary to me.
Are you gonna make my stuffy nose feel better?
That's the spot - it hurts right there. Is it my gall bladder or appendix?
What dog - there's no dog in my room dad, I know the rules.
Oh butterfly, you are so pretty. And the flowers smell good too.
What do you mean you got my nose? When will I get it back?

Snow Flakes of another kind

These are another pair of earrings I made that will help someone ring in the holiday. They do sparkle nicely. Measure in at 3 inches long, with gold ear wire and wrapped with gold wire. Have a nice weight to them but not to much to be bothersome.

New recipe for Chicken Noodle Soup

I wanted some chicken noodle soup but we were out of noodles. So I searched the cupboards to see what we had. All I could find were lots of packages of Ramen Noodles. So I figured why not! So I filled a 2 quart pot with water and added 3 bouillon cubes of chicken flavor. Then added 5 pieces of frozen chicken. Let it cook on medium as I proceeded to add carrots, celery and of course my favorite for color, radishes. I added any flavorings I thought I might want along with dried onions. By the time I had cut up my carrots, celery and radishes it was time to take out the chicken and cut it up and put it back in the water.
I let it cook for a bit more then added 3 packages of Ramen Noodles that I had taken a cup and banged on to break up the noodles before I opened the bag. After it cooked to let the noodles get done I then added 2 of the packets that come with the noodles to add more flavor.
O'boy does that add F L A V O R to the soup.
Here is the way my soup turned out. YUM YUM and I mean YUM YUM......

Got my bracelet done

I made it with 2 pieces of silverware that we cut off the spoon end.
I drilled the left one and Mr. L. did the other one. It really needs to be drilled close to the end, in order for the wire to fit right and the chain to fit on well. But it's the first one so this one is mine and we will know better for the other ones. As with all my jewelry no 2 will be the same.

This is the *Necklace Pendant* I made myself from the spoon from one of the silverware pieces. It has 3 Fresh Water Pearls of different sizes along with faux little white pearls as accents. With a butterfly, dragonfly and a gold bead for extra bling, all wrapped in gold wire.

This one is the second one I made from the other piece of silverware. It looks similar to mine but different. As I said no 2 are the *SAME*. The beads are slightly different in where they are placed for color. But it still has the 3 Fresh Water Pearls of different sizes. This one has a different chain to it, which is 26in long.

Who doesn't love Rings?

This is a video on how to make wire wrapped rings with Crystal beads. So easy I wanted to share it. It has 3 videos to it but they go from 1 video to the next so I will only post the first one.
Hope you enjoy it.
I plan on trying this right after I finish making my bracelet I am working on. I will post a pic when I am done.

Warheads in our own backyards!

I knew we had nuclear plants around the US. But I was unaware that we had atomic warheads still here and ready to be launched. Here is a link so you can see for yourself as to where they are Warheads. I also have another link so you can read a little about it. Where the Nukes are.....

This is a warhead being mated up with a DF-3.

Christmas Earrings

I was asked by a lady if I had made any Christmas type earrings and I hadn't as of yet. So I went to work on making some. This is my first pair. I have 3 others done after these. I spent all evening making them. I was over anxious and took the picture before I had put the earring part on, but you get the idea.

They hang about 2 inches in length.
Boy did I have to go all over my town to look for red beads. No where did any of our stores have any. I did find these at Jo Ann Fabrics. Of course the most expensive store in town. But I had a coupon for 25% off so that helped a little.

Birthstone Charts and their backgrounds

As I was searching for the birthstones for their certain colors for my jewelry, it dawned on me that someone else may just be as interested in them as I was. So here is some of the information I found. I was glad to come up with the Swarovski Chart as those are the crystals I use in lots of my jewelry designs as of late. But it was more fascinating to find the chart with the origins of all the traditions and differences they have went through.

Since I have been making lots of jewelry I thought this was nice..

This goes along with my 2 favorite things, crocheting and making jewelry. I had always wondered how they made those beautiful crocheted necklaces. Now I can try to make one. I have the beads all I have to get is the wire. I don't have that type on hand. I will have to put that on my list.

Crocheted Corkscrew Tutorial

Of all the years I have been crocheting I have never known how to do this. Now with this video I know how. I know this is something that others might think that is so simple and it is now that I know how to do it, but I am sure there are others that might not know how to do it either.
So now they will.

Crochet Geek: Crochet Boucan Pattern Stitch - Scarf - Afghan - Blanket

This is so easy and comes out so nice. I love this stitch. You can combine any combination of colors and it would look fantastic.
I just had to share this with my buddies that also love to crochet.

Mr. L.'s new hat...

Well since these hats were too much for our budget I was asked if I could sew the design on a hat??
Since I will do anything for Mr. L., I did my best sewing and did just that. This is the results.

This is the **Not of This World** logo that they sell on stocking hats for around $17-20.00. That was money we didn't have. So I made a template with card stock and just sewed over it. We used a hat Mr. L. already had and I just used the gold thread I had already on my sewing machine and I went to sewing the logo on his hat. I carefully tore the card stock off from around the lettering when I was done and then washed the hat to get the rest of the paper from the hat. I didn't want to rip it from the tread and rip the tread. So the washing just did the trick.
He just loves the way it turned out. He wears his hat like a little kid with a new toy.

Well my Lady bought 2 more peices off me today

They each have the Swarovski Crystals in them so they shine in the light. She is getting her Christmas shopping done. She has ideas for more so I have to get busy.
I would show you how I had them packaged up for her but I didn't have my card in my camera when I was taking the pictures. But I can tell you.
I had the purple set in a gold wire basket with 2 Xmas bulbs, and deep pink plastic santa that I had the jewelry inside of all setting on shredded white paper with a colorful bow on it all ready to give to someone.
The Green set I had in a jewelers case from the store that I had put into a Christmas stocking that had a bear on it that was holding a bell. So both sets were ready for gift giving. All she has to do is add a name.
**But I have a feeling she may keep the purple set, as purple is her favorite color.
