Do you know where Halloween originated???

I don't know about you but when Halloween comes around I have often wondered when it started and where it come from. Well I took the time to look it up this year. I had known the story of All Hallow's Eve. Then the story of the Harvest and worshiping of the gods. So I wasn't sure which was true or if both were.
Well you can find a  lot of things on google. I just typed in "How did Halloween begin" and I got a lot of answers but you know what --- they all pretty much came to the same conclusion. Both stories I had heard about were true but I didn't know the full extent of them. Plus they were Paganism and moved over to be Christian like. The Roman Catholics did a lot of that.
I won't explain the origin of Halloween here-- I will let you look it up for yourself. You just might learn something you didn't know.

Don't get me wrong--I'm not saying anything against or for it. You do your own thing for Halloween.

I was just posing a question...

I want to "Thank Everyone" that has sent well wishes

I have had so many friends email and call to help comfort me in this time of need. The Lord has blessed me in this time of need with so much love from my friends. He has piled on me things I thought I couldn't handle. With my brother dying on Tuesday then my finding out my Aunt died on Wednesday.
As if that wasn't enough I was preparing myself to remember my mothers passing on the 31st of this month, which would make 12yrs now and I had just went past the remembrance of her birthday on the 10th of this month. Then my father's passing on the 4th of November. So the Lord is really testing my faith this month. But there is a bright spot in this month...my daughter's birthday is the 26th of this month.
But I wanted to let everyone know the friends of my brother were he lived in FL. had a memorial for him and they had a BIG turn out. I was so happy to hear that. I made my heart jump with joy to know he had so many friends (rather family to him) as they would be since he had lived down there for nearly 20 or more years. They loved him and he loved them. He looked out for them and they for him. They were a close knit family of sorts who knew each others lives and didn't care- they still loved them anyway. The "TRUE" meaning of friends.
You know that email that goes around that says a true friend knows the real you and accepts you anyway- well that's the way they "ALL" are down there.Wouldn't it be great if everyone could be like that?
I have been conversing with them and they are helping me to get all the arrangements done with getting my brother cremated and sent on up to me. The Lord has blessed me with their kindness in the best way. He always answers my prayers because I was so up in arms in how I was going to accomplish this. I will never be able to THANK these people enough for the kindness that is coming from within their hearts.
They have asked if they can scatter some of my brother's ashes out on the water where he worked. He worked on the fishing/shrimping boats and loved the water. So I told them most assuredly they could scatter some of his ashes on the water since I knew he loved the water and his job. It would also help them to have closure with his passing also.
My brother was free spirited and I think he would love this.
I also want to share with you a pic they sent me of just some of the people at the memorial down there for my brother. From what I understand, even when it was over people didn't want to leave, they stayed and continued to share in all the things my brother did in his life.
Sounds like it was so beautiful.

God only gives you what you can handle but I DON'T know if I can handle this

I got one of the hardest phone calls anyone could ever get tonight. I got a call from one of my brothers informing me that another one of our brothers had passed away yesterday, Oct 12th. He was living in Florida. Of course way away from the rest of us. Plus we hadn't seen him since our mother passed in 1998. He in actuality isn't liked to well by my other 2 brothers. See Lonnie was free spirited. Never really lived anywhere. Never had any bills. Worked where he wanted, when he wanted. Made friends all over the place. Would help anyone that needed it. Stayed on the beaches in Florida so he got to see the sun rise and set. Did stay with a friend here and there once in awhile.
Sure he had his demons. He did drugs and drank. But he never stole to have them. He loved his life-it made him happy. And isn't that what mattered? Was that he was happy!
Who in all reality wouldn't like to live without bills and be able to come and go as you please? To sleep on the beach and take a dip whenever you wanted. Be friends with all the store managers and get the end of the night fast food left overs. FREE food- who wouldn't love that. Or get the day old donuts they are gonna throw out and share them with your friends. What's wrong with a day old donut? I've ate more than a few in my day. He's even gotten a few T-bone steaks that were at the end of their date that they were gonna throw out, that are really still ok, and had great cook-outs with his friends.
I don't know about you but I think he had a very good life.
Plus from what I was told by one of his friends tonight- he had stopped his drugs over a year ago, and even slowed up on his drinking. So he was conquering his demons.
Well I now have the task of trying to make his funeral arrangements. Not really something I am wanting to do. But I know with the Lord's help I will get it done.
With him not having a will or money for that fact the final bill will fall to us 3 remaining siblings. So there are many things I have to look into.

Outing with Nanna

I had the joy of babysitting my youngest grandson the other day. He has a problem- he is a momma's boy all the way. So getting him to spend any time with Nanna is a chore. So we first went to the Dollar Store and looked at the Halloween decorations and I had mentioned maybe getting a donut at the restaurant early on. But he would have nothing with it. But after we got done at the store he quietly said he wanted a donut. So we headed to the restaurant.
He had no problem grabbing the one he wanted out of the box the waitress showed him. Her mistake for putting it so close to him. He got a chocolate milk to go along with it. While I enjoyed a coffee. He told me he hadn't had coffee before so he used his spoon and tried mine. After a few spoons full he decided he liked it but said it needed more sugar. "Actually I think he was just pulling my leg- his dad drinks coffee all the time."
I was able to get him to converse with me about the decorations hanging around the restaurant. Even got him to count them. He did very well, as he is 4yrs old. He preferred to rearrange the jams though. Wanted to make sure they were even in their container.
I wanted to post a few pics I took of him while he was enjoying his donut and chocolate milk.
Not often I get to spend time with him without him crying all the time for his momma. Which he did none of on this day. He was quite the BIG BOY...

avoid bed bugs wash all new linens, clothing etc first

This was sent to me in an email--->>>>

A bit of information that you might like to know about. We have
friends here in our community and one of their sons is an entomologist
(insect expert), and has been telling them that there is an epidemic of bed
bugs now occuring in America. Recently I have heard on the news that
several stores in NYC have had to close due to bed bug problems, as well as
a complete mall in New Jersey. He says that since much of our clothing,
sheets, towels, etc. now comes from companies outside of America, (sad but
true), even the most expensive stores sell foreign clothing from China,
Indonesia, etc. The bed bugs are coming in on the clothing as these
countries do not consider them a problem. He recommends that if you buy any
new clothing, even underware and socks, sheets, towels, etc. that you bring
them into the house and put them in your clothes dryer for at least 20
minutes. The heat will kill them and their eggs. DO NOT PURCHASE CLOTHES
AND HANG THEM IN THE CLOSET FIRST. It does not matter what the price range
is of the clothing, or if the outfit comes from the most expensive store
known in the U.S. They still get shipments from these countries and the
bugs can come in a box of scarves or anything else for that matter. That is
the reason why so many stores, many of them clothing stores have had to shut
down in NYC and other places. All you need is to bring one item into the
house that has bugs or eggs and you will go to heck and back trying to get
rid of them. He travels all over the country as an advisor to many of these
stores, as prevention and after they have the problem.Send this information
on to those on your e-mail list so that this good prevention information
gets around quickly.

Rig your laptop with a blaring alarm

What a way to keep your laptop safe. I have had on occasions had to go to McDonald's to hook up my laptop when my internet was out and I always had to make sure someone else was with me, just for this reason.
I will have to post the link for this as it is of course a copyright.
