Should I celebrate **Christmas**

My family and I don't. We have no tree, no lights, not even a gift one is wrapped and given in our house.
We celebrate the Lord every day and feel we should not set aside JUST one day a year for him. As God did not put it in the Bible for us to do so. If he had wanted it to be done he would have made sure to have included it in his word.
But I think you will find this following link informative reading.

Come to the Father

Because of Love

A brother and sister had made their usual hurried, obligatory pre-Christmas visit to the little farm where dwelt their elderly parents with their small herd of horses. The farm was where they had grown up and had been named  Lone Pine Farm because of the huge pine, which topped the hill behind the farm. Through the years the tree had become a talisman to the old man and his wife, and a landmark in the countryside. The young siblings had fond memories of their childhood here, but the city hustle and bustle added more excitement to their lives, and called them away to a different life.

The old folks no longer showed their horses, for the years had taken their toll, and getting out to the barn on those frosty mornings was getting harder, but it gave them a reason to get up in  the mornings and a reason to live. They sold a few foals each year, and the horses were their reason for joy in the morning and contentment at day's end.

Angry, as they prepared to leave, the young couple confronted the old folks "Why do you not at least dispose  of 'The Old One'. She is no longer of use to you. It's been years since you've had foals from her. You should cut corners and save so you can have more for yourselves.  How can this old worn out horse bring you anything but expense and work? Why do you keep her anyway?"

The old man looked down at his worn boots, holes in the toes, scuffed at the barn floor and replied, " Yes, I  could use a pair of new boots".

His arm slid defensively about the Old One's neck as he drew her near with gentle caressing he rubbed her softly behind her ears. He replied softly, "We keep her because of love. Nothing else, just love."

Baffled and irritated, the young folks wished the old man and his wife a Merry Christmas and headed back toward the city as darkness  stole through the valley.

The old couple shook their heads in sorrow that it had not been a happy visit. A tear fell upon their cheeks. How is it that these young folks do not  understand the peace of the love that filled their hearts?

So it was, that because of the unhappy leave-taking, no one noticed the insulation smoldering on the frayed wires in the old barn. None saw the first spark fall. None but the "Old One".

In a matter of minutes, the whole barn was ablaze and the hungry flames were licking at the loft full of hay. With a cry of horror and despair, the old man shouted to his wife to call for help as he raced to the barn to save their beloved horses. But the flames were roaring now, and the blazing heat drove him back. He sank sobbing to the ground, helpless before the fire's fury. His wife back from calling for help cradled him in her arms, clinging to each other,  they wept at their loss.
By the time the fire department arrived, only  smoking, glowing ruins were left, and the old man and his  wife, exhausted from their grief, huddled together before the barn. They were speechless as they rose from the cold snow covered ground. They nodded thanks to the firemen  as there was nothing anyone could do now. The old man turned to his wife, resting her white head upon his  shoulders as his shaking old hands clumsily dried her tears  with a frayed red bandana. Brokenly he whispered, "We have  lost much, but God has spared our home on this eve of  Christmas. Let us gather strength and climb the hill to the  old pine where we have sought comfort in times of despair. We will look down upon our home and give thanks to God that it has been spared and pray for our beloved most precious gifts that have been taken from us.

And so, he took her by the hand and slowly helped her up the snowy hill as he brushed aside his own tears with the back of his old and withered hand.

The journey up the hill was hard  for their old  bodies in the steep snow. As they stepped over the little knoll at the crest of the hill, they paused to rest, looking up to the top of the hill the old couple gasped and fell to their knees in  amazement at the incredible beauty before them.

Seemingly, every glorious,  brilliant star in the heavens was caught up in the glittering,  snow-frosted  branches of their beloved pine, and it was aglow with heavenly candles. And poised on its top most  bough, a crystal crescent moon glistened like spun glass. Never had  a mere mortal created a Christmas tree such as this. They were breathless as the old man held his wife tighter in his arms.

Suddenly, the old man gave a cry of wonder and incredible joy. Amazed and mystified, he took his wife by the hand and pulled her forward. There, beneath the tree, in resplendent glory, a mist hovering over and glowing in the darkness was their Christmas gift. Shadows glistening in the night light.

Bedded down about the "Old one" close to the trunk of the tree, was the entire herd, safe.

At the first hint of smoke, she had pushed the door ajar with her muzzle and had led the horses through it. Slowly and with great dignity, never looking back, she had led them up the hill, stepping cautiously through the snow. The foals were  frightened and dashed about. The skittish yearlings looked back at the crackling, hungry flames, and tucked their tails under them as they licked their lips and hopped like rabbits. The mares that were in foal with a new  years crop of babies, pressed uneasily against the "Old One" as she  moved calmly up the hill and to safety beneath the pine. And now she lay among them and gazed at the faces of the old man and his wife.

Those she loved she had not disappointed. Her body was brittle with years, tired from the climb, but the golden eyes were filled with devotion as she offered her gift--
Because of love. Only Because of love.

Tears flowed as the old couple shouted their praise  and joy... And again the peace of love filled their hearts.

This is a true story.

A small  request !

Cancer is a strange cell. Going along  for years in remission and then one day it pops it's head up again. Pray for the day there will be a permanent  cure.

A small request....Please say this prayer.

Dear God,
I  pray for the cure of cancer and peace for the families ravaged by it.

In Jesus name, Amen

Why not keep this going in memory of anyone you know who has been struck down by cancer or is still living with it.
I for one know what it does to a family- I had it take my mom and a brother from me. When I was a child I lost an Uncle to it.  It is a long, drawn out painful event. Nothing I would wish for anyone.

The Map

A little girl wanted to know what the United States looked like. Her Father tore a map of the United States out of his magazine and cut it into small pieces.

He gave them to her and said, 'Go into the other room and see if you can put this together. This will
show you our whole country today..'

After some minutes, she returned and handed him the map, correctly fitted and taped together. The father was surprised and asked how she had finished so quickly.

'Oh,' she said, 'on the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus .

When I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, then our country just came together.'

Sooo........ when we get Jesus back where
                   He Belongs--
         our country will come together.

Why is it so hard to say it

Gone are the days of families with happy homes and everyone wanting to talk about their relatives. Now almost every home has been broken up or some has committed suicide, or someone is in prison, or someone isn't talking to someone over something stupid. Why don't people realize life is too short to hold grudges and children grow up way to fast and those moments are gone, never to be had again. Mothers, fathers, even grandparents are taken from us way to soon and if you don't tell them you love them you are left with that aching feeling of wondering ** did they really know how much I loved them***??
SO tell them NOW when you can. Why don't people just do that. Why is it so hard to tell someone *I love you*, instead of just thinking they know it. Those words could make a persons day. Those words could stop a person from doing something very harmful to themselves because they thought no one cared.
God showed you he loved you by sending you JESUS-------------- so why is it so hard for you to tell someone you *LOVE* them???????

And it doesn't just have to be family that you say *I love you * to. What about that stranger at the store that looks like they need a pick me up, or the waitress that looks frazzled. I'm sure that would really make their day to know someone cares.

                                    I care

                                     and

                       I LOVE YOU  !!!!!

Do you know where Halloween originated???

I don't know about you but when Halloween comes around I have often wondered when it started and where it come from. Well I took the time to look it up this year. I had known the story of All Hallow's Eve. Then the story of the Harvest and worshiping of the gods. So I wasn't sure which was true or if both were.
Well you can find a  lot of things on google. I just typed in "How did Halloween begin" and I got a lot of answers but you know what --- they all pretty much came to the same conclusion. Both stories I had heard about were true but I didn't know the full extent of them. Plus they were Paganism and moved over to be Christian like. The Roman Catholics did a lot of that.
I won't explain the origin of Halloween here-- I will let you look it up for yourself. You just might learn something you didn't know.

Don't get me wrong--I'm not saying anything against or for it. You do your own thing for Halloween.

I was just posing a question...

I want to "Thank Everyone" that has sent well wishes

I have had so many friends email and call to help comfort me in this time of need. The Lord has blessed me in this time of need with so much love from my friends. He has piled on me things I thought I couldn't handle. With my brother dying on Tuesday then my finding out my Aunt died on Wednesday.
As if that wasn't enough I was preparing myself to remember my mothers passing on the 31st of this month, which would make 12yrs now and I had just went past the remembrance of her birthday on the 10th of this month. Then my father's passing on the 4th of November. So the Lord is really testing my faith this month. But there is a bright spot in this month...my daughter's birthday is the 26th of this month.
But I wanted to let everyone know the friends of my brother were he lived in FL. had a memorial for him and they had a BIG turn out. I was so happy to hear that. I made my heart jump with joy to know he had so many friends (rather family to him) as they would be since he had lived down there for nearly 20 or more years. They loved him and he loved them. He looked out for them and they for him. They were a close knit family of sorts who knew each others lives and didn't care- they still loved them anyway. The "TRUE" meaning of friends.
You know that email that goes around that says a true friend knows the real you and accepts you anyway- well that's the way they "ALL" are down there.Wouldn't it be great if everyone could be like that?
I have been conversing with them and they are helping me to get all the arrangements done with getting my brother cremated and sent on up to me. The Lord has blessed me with their kindness in the best way. He always answers my prayers because I was so up in arms in how I was going to accomplish this. I will never be able to THANK these people enough for the kindness that is coming from within their hearts.
They have asked if they can scatter some of my brother's ashes out on the water where he worked. He worked on the fishing/shrimping boats and loved the water. So I told them most assuredly they could scatter some of his ashes on the water since I knew he loved the water and his job. It would also help them to have closure with his passing also.
My brother was free spirited and I think he would love this.
I also want to share with you a pic they sent me of just some of the people at the memorial down there for my brother. From what I understand, even when it was over people didn't want to leave, they stayed and continued to share in all the things my brother did in his life.
Sounds like it was so beautiful.

God only gives you what you can handle but I DON'T know if I can handle this

I got one of the hardest phone calls anyone could ever get tonight. I got a call from one of my brothers informing me that another one of our brothers had passed away yesterday, Oct 12th. He was living in Florida. Of course way away from the rest of us. Plus we hadn't seen him since our mother passed in 1998. He in actuality isn't liked to well by my other 2 brothers. See Lonnie was free spirited. Never really lived anywhere. Never had any bills. Worked where he wanted, when he wanted. Made friends all over the place. Would help anyone that needed it. Stayed on the beaches in Florida so he got to see the sun rise and set. Did stay with a friend here and there once in awhile.
Sure he had his demons. He did drugs and drank. But he never stole to have them. He loved his life-it made him happy. And isn't that what mattered? Was that he was happy!
Who in all reality wouldn't like to live without bills and be able to come and go as you please? To sleep on the beach and take a dip whenever you wanted. Be friends with all the store managers and get the end of the night fast food left overs. FREE food- who wouldn't love that. Or get the day old donuts they are gonna throw out and share them with your friends. What's wrong with a day old donut? I've ate more than a few in my day. He's even gotten a few T-bone steaks that were at the end of their date that they were gonna throw out, that are really still ok, and had great cook-outs with his friends.
I don't know about you but I think he had a very good life.
Plus from what I was told by one of his friends tonight- he had stopped his drugs over a year ago, and even slowed up on his drinking. So he was conquering his demons.
Well I now have the task of trying to make his funeral arrangements. Not really something I am wanting to do. But I know with the Lord's help I will get it done.
With him not having a will or money for that fact the final bill will fall to us 3 remaining siblings. So there are many things I have to look into.

Outing with Nanna

I had the joy of babysitting my youngest grandson the other day. He has a problem- he is a momma's boy all the way. So getting him to spend any time with Nanna is a chore. So we first went to the Dollar Store and looked at the Halloween decorations and I had mentioned maybe getting a donut at the restaurant early on. But he would have nothing with it. But after we got done at the store he quietly said he wanted a donut. So we headed to the restaurant.
He had no problem grabbing the one he wanted out of the box the waitress showed him. Her mistake for putting it so close to him. He got a chocolate milk to go along with it. While I enjoyed a coffee. He told me he hadn't had coffee before so he used his spoon and tried mine. After a few spoons full he decided he liked it but said it needed more sugar. "Actually I think he was just pulling my leg- his dad drinks coffee all the time."
I was able to get him to converse with me about the decorations hanging around the restaurant. Even got him to count them. He did very well, as he is 4yrs old. He preferred to rearrange the jams though. Wanted to make sure they were even in their container.
I wanted to post a few pics I took of him while he was enjoying his donut and chocolate milk.
Not often I get to spend time with him without him crying all the time for his momma. Which he did none of on this day. He was quite the BIG BOY...

avoid bed bugs wash all new linens, clothing etc first

This was sent to me in an email--->>>>

A bit of information that you might like to know about. We have
friends here in our community and one of their sons is an entomologist
(insect expert), and has been telling them that there is an epidemic of bed
bugs now occuring in America. Recently I have heard on the news that
several stores in NYC have had to close due to bed bug problems, as well as
a complete mall in New Jersey. He says that since much of our clothing,
sheets, towels, etc. now comes from companies outside of America, (sad but
true), even the most expensive stores sell foreign clothing from China,
Indonesia, etc. The bed bugs are coming in on the clothing as these
countries do not consider them a problem. He recommends that if you buy any
new clothing, even underware and socks, sheets, towels, etc. that you bring
them into the house and put them in your clothes dryer for at least 20
minutes. The heat will kill them and their eggs. DO NOT PURCHASE CLOTHES
AND HANG THEM IN THE CLOSET FIRST. It does not matter what the price range
is of the clothing, or if the outfit comes from the most expensive store
known in the U.S. They still get shipments from these countries and the
bugs can come in a box of scarves or anything else for that matter. That is
the reason why so many stores, many of them clothing stores have had to shut
down in NYC and other places. All you need is to bring one item into the
house that has bugs or eggs and you will go to heck and back trying to get
rid of them. He travels all over the country as an advisor to many of these
stores, as prevention and after they have the problem.Send this information
on to those on your e-mail list so that this good prevention information
gets around quickly.

Rig your laptop with a blaring alarm

What a way to keep your laptop safe. I have had on occasions had to go to McDonald's to hook up my laptop when my internet was out and I always had to make sure someone else was with me, just for this reason.
I will have to post the link for this as it is of course a copyright.
Rig your laptop with a blaring alarm.

It came in my email today from Komando.com, if you haven't signed up for any of Kim's daily emails-- DO-- she has so many helpful things for you.

Chicken Wire Art

Chicken wire is used to make fences, papier mache objects, building stucco walls, creating shapes for bushes and hedges and art.
But this British-born artist Ivan Lovatt found another use for it. He makes sculptures out of it. It takes talent and a big imagination to do this.
He sells his art for $9,000 to $18,000.

Footprints improved

This new version of the 'footprints' story really caught me off-guard at the end....
What a blessing.

Just Read It!

FOOTPRINTS...A New Version

Imagine you and the Lord Jesus are walking down the road together. For much of the way, the Lord's footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying the pace.

But your footprints are a disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures, and returns.

For much of the way, it seems to go like this, but gradually your footprints come more in line with the Lord's, soon paralleling, His consistently...

You and Jesus are walking as true friends!

This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing happens: Your footprints that once etched the sand next to Jesus' are now walking precisely in His steps.

Inside His larger footprints are your smaller ones, you and Jesus are becoming one..

This goes on for many miles, but gradually you notice another change. The footprints inside the large footprints seem to grow larger.

Eventually they disappear altogether. There is only one set of footprints.. They have become one.

This goes on for a long time, but suddenly the second set of footprints is back. This time it seems even worse! Zigzags all over the place. Stops. Starts. Gashes in the sand. A variable mess of prints.

You are amazed and shocked. Your dream ends. Now you pray:
'Lord, I understand the first scene, with zigzags and fits. I was a new Christian; I was just learning. But You walked on through the storm and helped me learn to walk with You.'

'That is correct.'

'And when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually learning to walk in Your steps, following You very closely..'

'Very good.. You have understood everything so far..' When the smaller footprints grew and filled in Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like You in every way.'

'Precisely.'

'So, Lord, was there a regression or something ? The footprints separated, and this time it was worse than at first.'

There is a pause as the Lord answers, with a smile in His voice.

'You didn't know? It was then that we danced!'

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance. Ecclesiastes 3:1-4

Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny isn't it? Are you laughing? Are you thinking? Spread the Word and give thanks to the Lord for He is good!

Funny isn't it, when you go to forward this message, how many on your list are not receiving it because you're not sure they believe?

Sad.

It's not WHAT you have in your life, but Who you have in your life that counts..
Think about that.

I asked GOD for a flower, He gave me a garden. I asked for a tree, He gave me a forest. I asked for a river, He gave me an ocean. I asked for a friend, He gave me 'YOU.'

Send this to whomever you think of as a friend...
I did .

Crockpot recipes galore

I was looking for some new crockpot recipes to add to the ones I already have and I came across this site that lists more than I could ever imagine. So I just had to pass them on. I know the winter months will be upon us quicker than we want and I for one like to do a lot of crockpot cooking in the winter. I love to smell the food smells in the air and Larry loves it when he comes home to the smell of something cooking. He tries to guess what it is before he lifts the lid. Sometimes he's right and sometimes he's not.
To me it just makes a home feel more like HOME.
Plus when you make something in the crockpot you always know you have extra for leftovers. And everyone knows leftovers are the best. You have meals for the rest of the week or you can freeze them for later. Great if you are doing the Once A Month Cooking.

Social Security

For the first time in history, the Democratic Congress will not allow an increase in the social
security COLA (cost of living adjustment).

In fact, The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation predicts there may not be any COLA for the next three years.

However, the per person monthly Medicare insurance premium will be increased from the 2009 premium
of $96.40 to $104.20 in 2010 and to $120.20 for the year 2011.

Congress also gave themselves a $3,000.00 a month Cost of Living Adjustment!!!!!

Forward this to all seniors and almost seniors that you know, to remind them not to vote for the incumbent senators and congressmen in the 2010 and the 2012 elections.

Turn your car into the world’s smallest motorhome

This would be fine if you were to go camping for a few weeks or so but I am not to sure I could use it for a long period of time. But then again I am sure there are some out there that this would do just the trick for.
You have got to go check this out. It comes from Sweden, is called the Swiss Room Box and will be available to us in October. No price as of yet until they are ready to ship in October.

'Twas the night before elections

This one is too good not to share---

'Twas the night before elections

And all through the town

Tempers were flaring

Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe

With a cat in my lap

Had cut off the TV

Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden

There arose such a noise

I peered out of my window

Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet

They wanted my pay

To give to the others

Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money

And quick as a wink

Jumped back on his bandwagon

As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen

Who were pulling his cart

I could tell they were out

To tear my country apart!

' On Fannie, on Freddie,

On Biden and Ayers!

On Acorn, On Pelosi'

He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause

And as he flew out of sight

I heard him laugh at the nation

Who wouldn't stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think

On this one final note-

IF YOU DON'T WANT SOCIALISM

GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

The OBAMA motto:
We've got what it takes, to take what you've got!

Maxine On Jesus

545 VS 3,000,000

  • VOTE in November

This is about as clear and easy to understand as it can be - please read it!!

The article below is completely neutral, ...not anti republican or democrat.

Charlie Reese, a retired reporter for the Orlando Sentinal has hit the nail directly on the head, defining clearly who it is that in the final analysis must assume responsibility for the judgements made that impact each one of us every day.

It's a short but good read. Worth the time. Worth remembering!

545 vs. 300,000,000

EVERY CITIZEN NEEDS TO READ THIS AND THINK ABOUT WHAT THIS JOURNALIST HAS SCRIPTED IN THIS MESSAGE. READ IT AND THEN REALLY THINK ABOUT OUR CURRENT POLITICAL DEBACLE.

Charley Reese has been a journalist for 49 years.
545 PEOPLE--By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them..

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.... . The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

the Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace
545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red ..

if the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power..

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees...

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nation was the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the hell happened? Can you spell 'politicians? ' I hope this goes around THE USA at least 100 times!!!
YOU can help it get there!!!
