Starting a juice fast

We watched the movie, "Fat, Sick and nearly Dead" on Netflix this weekend and it was about a guy who had let himself go and eat whatever he wanted over the years. He was only 41 and weighed well over 290 lbs. He decided to do a 60 day juice fast and it followed him as he made his transformation. It was quite interesting. It showed how we as Americans don't get enough fruits and vegetables in our daily meals.
He showed how you can get all your fruits and vegetables in while you are juicing. It really benefits your body.
It gives you more energy, better restful sleep and even helped one woman to get rid of her headaches that she had been having for years. It will help you to get rid of all the pills your Dr.s have you on also.
He even had a truck driver who had also let himself go and was into the 429 lb sight. it followed him to show you the difference in his transformation. He had really bad knees but after starting the juicing his knee problems went away and he was even running every day for exercise.

So I started searching online for a juicer. Well as you can figure if you want one that is good and will last - they are going to be more expensive. I can't afford the price they want for those. SOOO we decided to go out and add to the fruits we already had in the house.
Then we proceeded to make this fruit and veggie concoction in our Ninja Blender we got a few weeks ago. Since it has 2 sets of blades for each container, it should do a good job.
WELL good job wasn't nearly the word to describe how our concoction turned out.

I used:
1 orange peeled
1 granny smith apple peeled
2 stalks of celery
2 handfuls of green grapes
1 pear peeled

Now it did turn out a bit juice - smoothie type but the flavor was delicious. I figure the celery made it a but like applesauce texture. But it did come out very smooth. It was so good Mr. L. wanted another glassful. But we have decided to do this twice a day along with a regular meal and we should be doing good. As with the juicing if you were to drink it 4 times a day as it says to do I believe you and the bathroom would become very good friends......
Since that is NOT what we want or Mr. L. can do since he has to work. We plan to add this to our exercises we do nightly and see what we get as an outcome. I would love it if I can get off some of these pills I take and help me with my headaches. The sleeping better would really benefit me as well.

I am adding a few videos of Joe Cross, where he shows you how to make the "Mean Green Juice" that he uses and drank during his filming.
Hope you enjoy and maybe come out of this with a better outcome on how you get your fruits and vegetables in your daily intake.

My mother-in-law just gave me her juicer she got from the cancer center as she was going through treatment for breast cancer which she has beaten for 7 yrs now & I am trying to get healthy like she did with juicing so this was super helpful. I welcome you to check my blog also and add any comments to encourage a fellow blogger :))

I am working on incorporating green smoothies in my diet. I'm VERY lucky,I've been blessed with good genes... but at 52 I still take no medications, and am about 20 pounds over my high school weight. For me, it's all about keeping it that way. In January I started back on a walking program, and have decided that I am gonna have to give the whole smoothie thing a whirl. I'm loving reading up on how many of you who have tried smoothies and juicing and think it's great... VERY encouraging for me!
